A very dry pattern setting up for the next week (8/21/22)
Scattered storms rolled through portions of the FOX 23 coverage area overnight Saturday. However, not everyone was able to benefit from the rainfall. If you didn’t pick up any rain early Sunday, your chances to do so in the near future look limited.
On Monday, we expect mostly sunny skies for most areas. It’ll be warm with a little bit of humidity. We’re forecasting high temperatures in the middle-80s in and around Cape Girardeau.
While temperatures warm slightly over the next few days, the humidity will actually begin to drop on Tuesday and Wednesday. For that reason, we’re able to scale back on the Skeeter Meter for both of those days.
Our 7 Day Forecast features a lot of dry weather. If we don’t see any rain between now and Saturday, Cape Girardeau is forecast to lose about 1.30″ of moisture from the soil. Needless to say, this could worsen the drought situation in some areas.
