Another chilly day, followed by warmer weather next week (11/19/22)
Our chilly stretch of days continued on Saturday. 13° was the low temperature in Cape Girardeau on Saturday morning, breaking the previous record of 20° set back in 2000.
We may break some more records on Saturday night. Our forecast low of 15° for Cape Girardeau would shatter Sunday’s record of 19° (1968).
We’re expecting another sunny day on Sunday, but it will still be chilly. High temperatures will be in the upper-30s to low-40s across the area. The average high for this time of year is in the middle-50s.
Warmer weather is not too far away, with 50°+ high temperatures returning on Monday. In fact, highs may near 60° on Wednesday!
While the first half of the week looks dry, our next potential weathermaker nears by late week. This could throw some scattered showers our way on Thanksgiving, and perhaps some more precipitation on Black Friday. There’s still some time to iron out the details of that forecast, which we will be doing in the days to come.
