Another hot and humid day Tuesday
With hot and humid conditions continuing in the area, we are currently under a heat advisory until Tuesday evening. Heat indices could reach 105 degrees combined with high dewpoints, which will make time spent outdoors very uncomfortable.
Just to the south, there is an excessive heat warning in place until Tuesday night. Heat indices in the dark pink counties could reach values greater than 110 degrees.
We see another hot day on Tuesday, with temperatures already in the 80s by 9am! Winds out of the south southwest will continue to bring up warm air throughout the day on Tuesday.
Highs across the region will reach the mid to upper 90s. Forecast dewpoints currently sit in the upper 70s, which means we have another very hot and humid day in store for us tomorrow.
Higher levels of humidity will help push heat indices above 100 degrees, with a few spots closing in on 110. Monitor for signs of heat illness during any outdoor plans tomorrow and be sure to have plenty of water.
The heat lets up on Wednesday as a slow moving cold front comes into the area late Tuesday into early Wednesday. There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms during the day Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. Behind the front, high pressure moves in from Canada which should give us a few sunny days going into the weekend. Temperatures for the end of this week and into next week are expected to be below average.
