Another hot and humid one for Father’s Day
After starting out the weekend hot and humid, we’ll continue to get slightly warmer going into Father’s Day on Sunday.
Temperatures are not expected to cool off all that much, only falling to the lower 70s – not a whole lot of relief for the morning hours.
High temperatures across our viewing area will be pushing the mid and upper 90s on Sunday – making for a hot day! There isn’t going to be a whole lot of air movement with the humidity “sticking” around, too. South winds will remain light throughout the day.
It’ll be a great day to remember all the ways to keep cool if trying to be outdoors. Stay hydrated, wear light clothing and escape to shade frequently as heat index values will be in the lower 100s by the afternoon.
Sunday looks to be the worst of the heat in terms of what it “feels like” outside factoring in the humidity. More relief should come by Tuesday and Wednesday.
That relief comes with storm chances increasing early in the week. Highs will drop to the 80s before the summer solstice on Thursday.
