Another Hot Day on the Way (6/21/22)
The heat and humidity sticks around for Wednesday with highs in the middle 90s.
Temperatures around the area on Wednesday will be a good 5 to 10 degrees above average. Our average high is right around 88 degrees. There won’t be much of a breeze, either, with a northwest wind at 5 to 10 mph.
Not helping to keep us cool will be the dewpoint. Those will be in the middle and upper 60s which gives us a triple digit heat index by the early and late afternoon.
Speaking of the afternoon, a frontal boundary will be swinging in and that will give us a chance for some showers and thunderstorms. Models are too excited about the overall coverage, but a few of us may see a quick shower or thunderstorm pop up after 4:00pm Wednesday.
The heat continues through the rest of the week with highs generally in the 90s and overnight lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s. However, long range models are hinting at the potential for a cool down early next week with highs only in the middle and upper 80s. Something to look forward to!
