Chilly Start, Sunny for Saturday Afternoon
We get off to a cold start to the weekend in the Heartland as overnight temperatures plunge going into Saturday morning. A Freeze Warning is in place from 1 a.m. until 9 a.m. CDT on Saturday, March 28.
- Freeze warnings are issued when there could be possible impacts to crops and sensitive vegetation, as well as damage to unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Low temperatures this evening will range from the upper 20s to the lower and middle 30s. The majority of the sub-freezing temperatures remain along or to the north of Cape Girardeau.
Clear skies and a northerly wind will aid us in dropping below freezing Friday night into Saturday in Cape.
The latest runs of StormCast give us clear skies through the start of the weekend.
Below-average temperatures highlight the Saturday forecast across most of the viewing area.
It will be a chilly start to the day in Cape, but most of the afternoon should be spent in the 50s. Winds will shift out of the south and east by the afternoon.
Temperatures recover quickly on Sunday to the 70s before the 80s arrive at the start of the work week. Chances for showers and thunderstorms increase late Tuesday night through the middle of the week.
