Dew points dropping into the 50s by next week (9/10/22)
With a frontal boundary moving through the area Sunday morning, some changes to our current weather pattern are coming our way. One of the most notable differences besides the change in wind direction and cooler temperatures will be the dip in dew point temperatures. The humidity for a while has been hovering in the upper 60s and lower 70s for some time now, but much of the moisture will be virtually swept away for a time with the passage of the cold front. Dew point temperatures by Monday will have dropped into the 50s.
As for the Skeeter Meter, Sunday’s conditions will call for the “Medium” category due to rain chances in the morning and the humidity sticking around for another day. Then, following the airmass change, lower dew point temperatures will bring us into the “Low” Skeeter Meter categories to start the week.
Following Sunday’s rain chances, the rest of the forecast remains dry. Cooler than normal temperatures can be expected through Monday, and a mix of sun and clouds will steadily bring high temperatures back into the mid and upper 80s.
