Dry for now; A few rain chances next week (2/11/23)

Saturday ended up turning out to be a fairly nice day, with plenty of sunshine and a high of 50° in Cape Girardeau. Sunshine will remain on Sunday, and high temperatures may end up a few degrees warmer. We’re forecasting a high in the middle-50s for most of the FOX 23 coverage area on Sunday.

Monday also looks like a fairly nice day with mostly sunny skies. However, things start to change on Valentine’s Day. A wave of low pressure will be passing by, which could bring some rain to the area.

Another disturbance will be approaching on Wednesday and will arrive on Thursday. By Wednesday night, we may have enough instability to bring some thunderstorms to the area. Storm activity may persist into Thursday.

Meanwhile, temperatures will be fairly mild for most of the week. A cold front will pass on Thursday, however. That will cool off temperatures for Friday and the start of the weekend.
