Early spring feeling this week (2/19/23)
With some lingering cloud cover Sunday evening and a breeze out of the southwest, another mild evening is in store for us. Temperatures will only drop into the middle and upper 40s throughout most of our coverage area to start the new week.
Overnight heading into the early morning hours of Monday, the slightest chance for a few pop-up showers is possible. Everything in terms of timing should wrap up before the morning commute.
Stormcast shows a small band of showers developing mostly in southern Illinois during this timeframe. Nothing lingers for very long, and mostly sunny skies are expected for the rest of the day.
Our Java Jumpstart to the week shows signs of early spring-like temperatures as we warm into the lower 60s on Monday. Winds will be light, with more rain expected late Tuesday and again on Wednesday.
Very warm weather hovering close to 70° (normally in the upper 40s at this time of year) will be possible by Wednesday and Thursday, but a sharp drop off in temperatures expected by Thursday night into Friday before more rain come next weekend.
