Excessive Heat continues on Friday
The strong heat continues heading into Friday, temperatures are expected to reach above 100°. Storms are possible Friday east of the Mississippi otherwise we will see mostly sunny skies. A better chance to see storms arrives Saturday with temperatures in the upper 90s. There is a chance to see storms July first on Sunday, with smaller chances heading into the week.
An Excessive Heat Warning is in place through Friday at 8:00pm, with many temperatures reaching the lower 100s. It is important to stay hydrated and cool when outdoors for long periods of time.
Friday will be very hot with light winds from the SW at 5-10 mph. Many will see temperatures in the upper 90s and lower 100s.
Most of the day Friday will be mostly sunny and hot. A chance for thunderstorms primarily in southern Illinois and western Kentucky are possible after 3:00pm.
Warm temperatures, light wind speeds with increasing humidity levels, puts our Skeeter Meter the next three days at a medium ranking.
There is a few rain chances the next couple of days, a very summer-like pattern. We are staying warm in the 90s the next couple of days, with a chance for temperatures to reach the lower 100s Friday. Our Best chance to see storms arrives Saturday, with smaller chances through next week.
