Excessive Heat Warning (6/13/22)
We have an Excessive Heat Warning (pink) in place through Wednesday evening with Heat Advisories (orange) in place surrounding it. The heat index will anywhere from 100 to 115 degrees during the afternoon hours.
Please use caution if you need to be outdoors for an extended amount of time. Take many breaks, drink plenty of water, and find the AC often. Heat related illnesses can happen quickly with extreme heat like this.
Check on the very old and very young often, as they are most susceptible to extreme heat and humidity. Pets should also be cared for and not left in the heat.
Temperatures will climb to around 100 degrees for actual high temperatures through most of the week, with afternoon heat indices in the 100-115 degree range. Then, overnight lows won’t drop by much. Upper 70s and lower 80s will be the low temperatures for the next several days, which means we won’t cool off much.
Precipitation chances are small through the week.
