Frigid, Near-Record Cold for Sunday
Temperatures will continue to plunge Saturday evening as we brace for one of the coldest evenings so far this winter season.
With overnight wind chills as low as 10 below zero, a Cold Weather Advisory is in place until 12 p.m on Sunday.
Air temperatures will likely bottom out in the single digits, especially across the northern half of our viewing area.
Cloud cover decreases overnight and so will the temperatures. Breezy conditions will not do us any favors either.
High temperatures will be close to 30 degrees below average tomorrow, with many of us only seeing the upper teens and lower 20s.
23 degrees (set back in 1985) is the lowest high temperature in the record books for December 14 in Cape. Record-setting cold looks to be in the forecast tomorrow.
Good news is, temperatures quickly climb into the upper 40s and 50s for the week ahead. A chance at rain beginning late Wednesday into early Thursday, before warmer temperatures continue heading into next weekend.
