Frost possible Sunday morning, but warming up (10/8/22)
While Frost Advisories Friday night into Saturday morning were off to the north, most of the FOX 23 coverage area will have a chance to see frost Sunday morning. A Frost Advisory (below) is in effect for Sunday from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 2 a.m. to 9 p.m. in areas off to the east.
Temperatures starting out on Sunday will be near freezing especially from Cape Girardeau and cities off to the north for another cold night. Winds will initially be out of the north, but will shift to be out of the southwest later in the morning. That change in wind direction will help temperatures to warm up again from Saturdays highs in the 60s.
Another pleasant fall day on Sunday a bit on the warmer side is expected as temperatures warm up from lows in the 30s to eventually reach highs in the 70s. Sunday will be another dry afternoon with a lot of sunshine.
Next week will start off with temperatures as warm as 80°. Rain stays out of the forecast until the chance to see storms rolls around Wednesday and Thursday with a cold front coming through Wednesday night. After that, we’ll cool down into the lower 70s once more.
