Heat Advisory through Wednesday evening

It’s been hot and muggy here recently, and it’s only expected to get worse from here. A Heat Advisory was issued for Wednesday because heat indices are expected to be well above 100°F through most of the day.

In fact, some of most humid and hot weather is set to arrive by Thursday, as actual air temperatures flirt with 100° – without factoring in the humidity. This hot and humid combo will be around through the weekend, with a heat index in the 100s expected each day.

Temperatures should soar, especially through the afternoon, with plenty of sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 90s. With this heat, it’s a good idea to keep plenty of fluid with you and wear loose, light clothing. Take breaks from the heat by heading indoors if you can, or find shade.

With such conditions through Friday, the Skeeter Meter will jump to the “Ugh” category to finish off the week. Air temperatures nearing 100° with plenty of humidity will make for favorable mosquito weather.

Through the rest of the period, it’s going to be very hot heading toward the start of August. It’s summer, and it’s certainly going to continue to feel like summer whether we like it or not.
