Heat/humidity increasing along with storm chances
As we close out the workweek, the heat and humidity are starting to ramp up yet again. The increase in the heat/humidity will come with an increase in storm chances as well, which could affect the holiday weekend.
In the meantime, we expect mostly clear and dry conditions on Thursday night. Low temperatures on Friday morning should bottom out in the lower-70s for most.
Friday looks to be another hot day, with high temperatures in the low to mid-90s. The humidity will also be on the increase. It will likely feel much muggier on Friday compared to Thursday.
While Friday morning remains mostly sunny, we’ll likely see some fair weather cumulus clouds popping up as temperatures start to heat up.
During the afternoon, some of those cumulus clouds may grow into a few storms. These will likely be your garden-variety pop-up storms that we typically see in the summertime. Not everyone will find themselves under one.
However, storm chances only increase heading into the holiday weekend. A front will approach late Friday and will arrive on Saturday. This front appears to stall over the area Saturday and Sunday, providing a focus for storms to develop.
At this time, the best storm chances appear to be over the weekend, although we’re keeping storm chances throughout much of next week as well. In fact, the heat appears to ramp up even more by mid-week.
