Heat, humidity on Tuesday, cooler by midweek
We are preparing for another hot day on Tuesday, but the good news is we have relief from the heat on the way! Temperatures for Tuesday will reach the middle to upper 90s by the afternoon with a light breeze out of the west southwest shifting to be out of the northeast closer to the evening hours.
High temperatures across the area will be well above average for most of us. A majority of the region will see temperatures reach the middle to upper 90s on Tuesday.
Heat index values are also expected to reach the triple digits for most of the region. While we are expecting mostly sunny skies on Tuesday, both the heat and humidity will continue to make any time spent outdoors feel uncomfortable.
We see a change in the weather pattern late Tuesday into early Wednesday when a drier airmass moves into the region. This should give us a break from higher levels of humidity, with drier conditions expected through the end of the work week and into the weekend.
Temperatures will be right around average after a cold front moves through late Tuesday night. Mostly sunny skies continue for the work week before we see mild temperatures for the weekend. The weekend is shaping up to be a great chance to spend some time outdoors, with mostly clear skies and high temperatures in the mid 80s!
