Heavy rain headed our way Friday into Saturday
Hurricane Helene is a Category 4 storm as of early evening on Thursday and it’s pushing north quickly. It will eventually weaken as it moves north and into our area as mainly rain and wind. Below is what our StormCast is saying for timing and location.
Heavy rain is going to be our main concern. The further east and southeast you are, the more rain you will get. Below is what our StormCast model is saying for rainfall potential.
There is a Flood Watch in place for much of our viewing area.
Not only will rain be an issue, but the wind will be a problem, mainly for Friday. Wind gusts may exceed 40 mph at times.
A Wind Advisory is in place for most of us into very early Saturday.
By Saturday, the wind gusts (and rain) starts to taper off.
High temperatures on Friday will struggle with all the clouds, rain, and wind.
