Heavy rain on the way.
Storms containing heavy rain are likely overnight and could lead to flooding.
The SPC shows the threat tonight with the possibility of severe thunderstorms.
An enhanced risk will continue through Sunday with severe weather again a possibility.
Along with likely thunderstorms throughout the day winds will be strong and gusty.
Lows overnight will average around eight degrees above normal.
Very warm temperatures are also expected for Sunday.
Storm chances will finally wind down late Sunday night and Memorial Day looks fantastic.
As a short wave moves into the region after midnight the threat of severe thunderstorms will continue to build overnight with the possibility of large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. One of the main issues will be heavy rains with the storms leading to the risk for flash flooding. Be aware that some of the storm activity could be on the dangerous side and continue throughout the day on Sunday. Storms will begin to dwindle by late Sunday night with clearing skies towards the morning on Memorial Day when we’ll see plenty of sunshine with cooler and much more pleasant conditions.
