Heavy rain potential into Thursday
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued through 3:00AM Thursday morning.
Large hail and damaging wind will be possible with storms that move through.
There is also a heavy rain is a potential with these storms. Because of this, a Flood Watch is in place for much of the viewing area.
Waves of heavy rain will move through overnight with a heavy swatch of rain expected early Thursday morning.
Also because of the heavy rain potential, there is a Moderate Risk for excessive rainfall from Paducah to Cape Girardeau north.
Several inches of rain will be possible.
Rain is expected to taper off as Thursday progresses. Highs will be in the lower 90s, but the dewpoint will be very high, so the heat index will be high, as well.
Because of the heat potential, a Heat Advisory and Excessive Heat Warning is in place for parts of the viewing area Thursday.
