Saturday afternoon, the heaviest snow will be across western Kentucky. Between 2 to 5 inches of snow through 6pm. The HEAVY & THICKEST snow moves in Saturday night after 9pm and continues through early Sunday afternoon. Snow accumulations between 6-12 inches from SEMO, southern Illinois and Kentucky. Evansville could see their 2nd largest snowstorm since 1998!

Heavy wet snow showers will continue through Saturday evening south of Cape G . The HEAVY & THICKEST snow moves in Saturday night after 7pm and continues through early Sunday afternoon. Snow accumulations between 6-12 inches from SEMO, southern Illinois and Kentucky Light ICING will occur in far southeast Missouri and western Kentucky are possible, mainly Saturday evening through midday Sunday, with some freezing rain possible in the southern Kentucky Pennyrile. Sleet mixing in those areas may add up to over an inch, with a light glaze of freezing rain. The heavy snow will lead to power outages, downed trees, powerlines and even roofs. This system will be out by Sunday night with EXTREME COLD temperatures across the region.

NE winds will gust to near 25-30 mph all day making for a very cold Sunday with snow continuing.

Temperatures will struggle to get above 25 degrees the next seven days! This is due to the thick and heavy snow packs across the region. The extreme cold will also not help to melt the snow. Sunshine will be out Monday & Tuesday, but fresh snow has a high refection meaning LONGER TO MELT. We could see warmer temperatures by the first week of February.
