Hottest days ahead- Cold front Wednesday night
Our hottest days have begun! Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will reach the mid to upper 90s with feel like temperatures above 110+ degrees. There will be a cold front moving in late Wednesday, which will bring storms likely across the region into Thursday. We just have to get through Wednesday before we can get a bit of relief from the HOT 90s! This weekend looks to be quite nice though. Temperatures will be in the 80s with sunshine and calm winds.
The EXTREME HEAT WARNING remains is in effect through Tuesday evening, with heat index values up to 115+ degrees.
Here is a look at some rain and storm chances through Wednesday evening. Tonight, some of us in Kentucky could see a thunderstorm move through. Tuesday morning, some scattered showers look to re develop over parts of western Kentucky. Wednesday evening will bring widespread storms across the region with a MARGINAL severe threat currently. Some storms could have heavy rain, damaging winds and localized flooding concerns.
Wednesday, there is a MARGINAL risk for severe weather for parts of SE Missouri and southern Illinois. Main concerns will be small hail and localized flooding.
High temperatures Tuesday will reach the middle to upper 90s. Mostly sunny skies with calm winds and an isolated chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm.
Tuesday afternoon, the feel like temperatures will be above 110 degrees for everyone! Stay cool and hydrated, especially these next 2 days.
