Humidity backs off on Thursday (7/20/22)

After a dangerously hot day with heat indices exceeding 120° in a few locations on Wednesday afternoon, a cold front will deliver some relief starting Wednesday night. As the front passes, isolated showers and storms are possible. These will be with us on Wednesday evening but should exit heading overnight and into Thursday morning.

By Thursday morning, we’re waking up to mostly clear skies. Those mostly clear skies will stick with us all day on Thursday. The afternoon will be hot once again, with high temperatures in the middle-90s in Cape Girardeau.

Dma Tomorrow High

While the humidity will be a lot lower on Thursday, it may still be noticeable. It’ll still be hot and muggy, but it will feel a lot less muggy compared to what we went through on Wednesday. The heat and humidity stick around at least through Saturday, so our Skeeter Meter sits in the “High” category through then.

While triple-digit heat is possible over the weekend, the heat starts to back off next week. This also comes with an increase in storm chances.
