Isolated pop-ups possible, but most dry for this Fourth of July

July’s full moon will be visible Monday night, between dodging some cloud cover. This full moon is also known as the “Buck” moon and will appear full for almost three days. The moon is positioned at one of its closest points to Earth on its orbital path. It’ll provide a great backdrop for any fireworks that kick off tonight!

Full Moon Forecast

For most, this holiday will be a dry and muggy one. Dew points again will send our heat indices to near 100°, with actual temperatures staying a few degrees cooler in the middle 90s. Other than a few pop-up isolated showers, it should be a great day to enjoy some sun and fun outdoors!

Temperatures will generally hover in the low to mid 90s for most of the day, as one of our warmer days going forward. We should stay near these “seasonal” temperatures, with the humidity pretty on par for where we should be at this time of the year.

Hour By Hour Temperature Tomorrow

By Wednesday, better forcing will align for some storms to fire up along a cold front that comes through, bringing better chances for Wednesday into Thursday. Details are still being worked out as to the timing and the threat to some of these as they come through our area. Right now, the Storm Prediction Center has most of us under a Slight (Level 2 of 5) risk.

With little standing water in play, we’ll be dealing with light winds and humidity, especially by Wednesday with better rain chances. For that reason, the Skeeter Meter goes from “Medium” to “High” for Wednesday, as conditions favor those mosquitoes a bit more by midweek.

After Wednesday-Thursday, the other chances for rain are tied closely to daytime heating, as the pattern supports spotty showers and storms most afternoons here and there. Average temperatures dominate the beginning of July into next weekend.

From us to you, we’re wishing you a safe and happy Fourth!
