Mild temperatures, plenty of rain on the way
We start the work week off with near average temperatures for the area. Expect mostly cloudy skies for your Monday, with showers and thunderstorms expected close to dinner time this evening.
The timing of storms this evening still remains uncertain, with one short range model showing precipitation coming into the area around 3 pm. Another model run shown below puts showers and thunderstorms into the region around 5 pm tonight.
The showers and storms that we see over the next couple days are remnants of Hurricane Beryl making their way north. We could see anywhere between 2-4 inches of rainfall in the next 48 hours, which has placed us under a flash flood watch until Wednesday morning.
Low temperatures tonight will be right around average. Showers and thunderstorms are possible during the overnight hours and into the morning, which could have impacts on your commute to work on Tuesday.
Showers continue throughout the day Tuesday and that cloud cover will work to keep us far cooler than average. High temperatures across the area are expected in the uppers 70s and lower 80s with winds out of the northeast.
Temperatures will return to average by the end of the work week, with lots of sunshine in the back half of the forecast. Higher levels of humidity come into play on Friday, setting up a warm and muggy weekend with temperatures in the low to mid 90s.
