More sunshine in store for Monday (4/16/23)
Through what severe storms we saw throughout Saturday, mostly smaller hail and some lower-tier winds were reported in our area. Hail, for the most part was around 1″ in size, with wind gusts reported from 50-60 mph as the line of storms approached and moved through.
On the back side of the cold front, we’ve had a much cooler end to the weekend, and we’ll slowly rebound into next week. With some clearing to happen overnight, we’ll get a lot more sun to start the next work week. With the sun this time around will come a decent breeze out of the west that picks up during the afternoon hours, gusting upwards of 35 mph.
At this time of the year, it doesn’t take much to get efficient mixing from upper-level winds to come down to the surface, and with plenty of sun we’ll continue to see it happen in our area.
Temperatures will end up slightly warmer on Monday, as highs reach the middle and upper 60s, if not lower 70s for some. Past Monday, temperatures will continue to rise through Thursday to end up back near the lower 80s.
Our dry, quiet few days will change come Thursday, with the chance for rain and thunderstorms returning.
