Mostly Sunny Skies Monday, Temperatures Remain Warmer
Forecast:
Heading forward into Sunday evening, we see temperatures all into the 70s and ultimately the 60s during the overnight hours. Mostly clear skies this evening with a light breeze.
High temperatures today reached the 80s across much of the Heartland with plenty of sunshine.
Low temperatures across our area this evening will reach the upper 50s and lower 60s. Keep an eye out for areas of fog before sunrise tomorrow morning.
As we head into the work week, another hot day is ahead here in Cape Girardeau on Monday. Temperatures will reach the upper 80s under mostly sunny skies, with an easterly breeze.
High temperatures tomorrow will sit in the upper 80s and lower 90s with mostly sunny skies.
Stormcast shows a few passing clouds throughout the day on Monday, but the Heartland remains dry through the first half of this week.
Tropical Storm Imelda is expected to take a turn out to sea over the coming days, thankfully limiting the impacts seen across the southeastern United States. Hurricane Humberto in the central Atlantic is doing us a favor, with the stronger area of low pressure at the center of Humberto dragging Imelda out to sea with it.
Warmer temperatures are expected to continue through the end of September, with highs remaining in the upper 80s to start this week. Mostly sunny skies for the start of October with highs continuing in the lower 80s into next weekend.
