Near record highs through next week
Temperatures are going to be well above average through the rest of this week, through the weekend, and into next week. We may even see a few record highs, which hover right around 100 each day. Precipitation isn’t looking likely for a while.
The heat will be bad enough, but the humidity is going to really kick in the next few days. It’ll feel “steamy” and “tropical” through the weekend.
A Heat Advisory is in place through the end of the week with many of our counties seeing it last into Saturday. Overall, we’re all going to be very hot for the next several days.
Actual temperatures on Thursday will be in the upper 90s. It wouldn’t surprise me if a few 100s show up.
The dewpoint will be up there, too. Most of us will be in the 70s.
There’s going to be a lot of heat and humidity, so the heat index will be pushing 110 degrees during the afternoon.
On the plus side, the excessive heat and lack of rain will lead to a decline in mosquitos!
