Nice weather for a few days; Weekend rain chances return (8/17/22)
The weather was a lot quieter on Wednesday, with more sunshine and slightly below average temperatures all across the FOX 23 coverage area.
The quiet weather sticks around for Wednesday night, with clear skies in the forecast. Low temperatures on Thursday morning should be in the lower-60s in Cape Girardeau. We also cannot rule out some patchy fog in a few areas.
We expect mostly sunny skies on Thursday as well, with more fair weather cumulus clouds in the forecast during the heat of the day. High temperatures should be in the middle-80s for most.
While the humidity may be noticeable on Thursday and Friday, it may be just low enough to keep our Skeeter Meter in the “Medium” territory. However, the latest indications point towards an increase in humidity heading into the weekend. For that reason, we’re bumping the Skeeter Meter into the “High” territory on Saturday.
As the weekend wears on, some rain chances start to reenter the forecast. It appears that most of Saturday will remain dry as of now, with slightly higher storm chances heading into Sunday.
