Our first white Christmas in quite some time (12/24/22)

Merry Christmas Eve from the Fox 23 Storm Alert Team to you and yours! With colder temperatures continuing through Christmas, records show most of our region is seeing its first white Christmas since 2010 because of the recent snow.

Santa will have single-digit temperatures overnight as he makes his rounds, but it isn’t anything he isn’t used to. Skies will also remain relatively clear for his arrival, so Rudolph will not have to work as hard.

Dma Tonight Low

In terms of our coldest wind chills Sunday morning, we’ll feel anywhere from about 0° to 10° below zero thanks to just enough wind out of the northwest to start Christmas. Slowly but surely, we are recovering from bitter temperatures just days ago.

Model Wind Chill Kbsi

Throughout Christmas day, we will remain in the double digits and see temperatures back in the upper 20s once again. It’ll be yet another colder day, but warm weather is headed our way as a high pressure starts to settle into our area in the coming days.

Hour By Hour Christmas Kbsi

Late into the evening on Sunday and the early morning hours of Monday, snow is possible once again. It’ll overspread the area through the morning, and we could see at least another inch of snowfall from this round.

After that, we’ll be a whole lot warmer. Temperatures will increase especially by the end of the week, and we’ll be warm enough for rain chances by Thursday.
