Overnight storm chance, mild on Wednesday
As rain chances continue into the overnight hours, there is the potential for flash flooding across the region. A flash flood watch is in place into the early morning hours on Wednesday.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the region under a slight risk of severe weather for the evening hours and into the early morning hours on Wednesday. The main threat being monitored with these storms will be damaging wind and the potential for flooding.
Temperatures shift to be more mild starting tomorrow, with Cape Girardeau expected to be in the mid 80s for most of the afternoon.
High temperatures across the region are shaping up to be slightly below average for Wednesday. Most areas will see temperatures in the lower to mid 80s, with warmer conditions off to the south and east.
Following the overnight chance for rain going into the morning on Wednesday, temperatures drop into the lower 80s until the weekend. Small chances of precipitation return in the later part of the weekend into early next week. These cooler temperatures should feel nice compared to the hot and humid conditions that we saw this past weekend!
