After a cloudy start to the day in Cape, temperatures will reach the lower 80s on Thursday afternoon. Partly sunny skies the rest of the day with a wind out of the north between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
We saw slight improvements to the drought monitor this week, including here in Cape Girardeau County. Although the Bootheel of Missouri remains in an Extreme Drought (Level 4 out of 5).
A few passing showers could be possible for northwest Tennessee this afternoon. Stormcast shows and chances for rain will fizzle out by 6 p.m. CDT.
Low temperatures tonight drop down into the 50s across the Heartland with mostly clear skies. Winds continue out of the north-northwest between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
