Pop-up weekend storms; Better rain chances next week (8/5/22)

After soaking rain for many over recent days, we continued to see some thunderstorm development on Friday afternoon. However, the activity was a lot more scattered in nature.

For Friday night, we expect much of the storm activity to end, with skies becoming mostly clear into Saturday morning. There is a small chance for a pop-up thunderstorm to develop as things heat up on Saturday. That said, any storm activity will likely be more on an isolated or widely scattered basis. We expect plenty of sunshine for the day on Saturday.

As far as high temperatures are concerned, we’re likely looking at high temperatures in the lower-90s for many. Winds should be on the lighter side, out of the south and southwest at around 5-15 mph.

We’ll have the humidity with us each day this weekend. For that reason, the Skeeter Meter remains in the “High” territory.

Another disturbance approaches on Monday and passes on Tuesday and Wednesday. This may give us the opportiunity for more storm development along with cooler high temperatures.
