Quiet and dry for some time (1/7/23)
Light rain did not amount to much moisture for most of us through Saturday afternoon. Most of the rain fell south of SEMO and the Kentucky-Tennessee border. Even then, just a tenth of an inch was seen in select spots. After the rain moved on, clouds have hung around for a dreary day that will lead into an overcast night.
Despite the cloud cover, temperatures were in the mid 50s on Saturday. We’ll cool down into the upper 30s overnight to start Sunday.
As winds become more northerly than easterly, colder air will be transported into our area for Sunday. High temperatures will drop off slightly in the middle and upper 40s as clouds decrease throughout the day.
With the new week, 50s are around again as we remain above average and dry until our next system by Thursday. Looking at some thunder and storms possible with that round, but we’ll keep an eye on it for future developments.
