Rain and humidity swept away, cooler Sunday
Rain chances will taper off as we head into early Sunday morning. The storms we have seen, they’ve produced a lot of rain over areas they sat over for a while Saturday evening. A Flash Flood Warning was issued for southern Butler County, south of Poplar Bluff.
This all while the northern half of our area has remain relatively quiet. Storms for Saturday were largely expected to bring heavy downpours and some stronger gusts at times as we have seen.
For Sunday, all of us will be dry and start another dry period through the beginning of next week. Because of that, temperatures will warm up from the 80s to the 90s again, soon enough.
But first, clouds will blanket our area on Sunday for the first half of the day, keeping us in the lower 80s throughout the day. We’ll see some clearing as we head into the second half of the day.
With rain chances diminishing by early Sunday, the Skeeter Meter will fall back to the “Medium” category for the next few days. Winds will be light, and temperatures will be climbing. One of the better things we have going for us is the humidity subsiding for a time.
Our current conditions on Saturday evening had dew points over 70° and muggy, but as the front moves through, we should see some relief on the other side. Models agree with this, with dew-points falling into a more comfortable range through Tuesday. Then moisture will return for more rain chances.
The second half of next week will bring about another pattern supporting off and on rain chances through the weekend. The warm up will continue through most of the week as well.
