Rain chances increasing over the next several days (8/7/22)
Sunday was another hot day across the FOX 23 coverage area. During the afternoon, some were able to see a few pop-up showers and thunderstorms. However, any storms have fizzled out as of Sunday evening. We’re remaining dry overnight and into Monday morning, with mostly clear skies.
On Monday, we expect to start the day with mostly sunny skies. However, more clouds enter the picture as the atmosphere heats up. By afternoon, scattered showers and storms will likely develop as a cold front approaches.
The approaching front passes late Monday and early Tuesday, so Monday will still be a very warm day. High temperatures will likely top out in the lower-90s once again.
Rain chances remain elevated over the next several days, increasing the standing water potential. For that reason, the Skeeter Meter remains in “Ugh” territory through Wednesday.
While rain chances remain elevated through Wednesday, temperatures cool off starting Tuesday. For that matter, we’re keeping 80s for high temperatures through the upcoming weekend as of now.
