Rain overnight will develop along and in front of a cold front that comes through, bringing rain chances through the early morning hours of Monday through the evening.

The timing of the rain as it develops west and moves east will affect western portions of our viewing area early Monday and end by Monday afternoon, but cities to the east will likely experience some heavier pockets of rainfall by late Monday afternoon.

Temperatures are going to be very mild to start the day on this holiday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. That will help temperatures rise to the upper 50s with a strong south breeze gusting upwards of 35 mph.

Rain becomes likely for most of the area after about noon and tapers off by the evening hours on Monday. Some of the heaviest rain will fall and be less than half an inch most likely, with most of the area expected to see under a quarter of an inch.
