Above is the latest run of StormCast showing a mixture of snow and sleet possible through the overnight hours.
Here is our in-house model’s forecast for snow chances from 10 p.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. Sunday. The bulk of the heavy snowfall still likely to come for Cape Girardeau. Areas off to our south and east will see less as chances for sleet increase.
Once the storm has passed, we will have to contend with dangerously cold temperatures across the Heartland. Wind chills 10 to 20 below zero will be possible from Sunday until Tuesday.
We should see a little more sunshine to start the week, though temperatures will remain well below average. Snowpack and the continued influx of cold air will keep things on the cold side for some time.
