Low temperatures tonight will be mild, giving us a warm start to the day on Sunday across the Heartland.

Overcast skies are expected Saturday in Cape Girardeau and will continue into early Sunday morning.

High temperatures will be seasonal for Sunday afternoon in the western half of the viewing area. We can expect high temperatures close to 90 degrees in our eastern counties.

We may see a few breaks in the cloud cover for Cape on Sunday, with chances for showers and thunderstorms on the rise after lunch.

Highs will slowly climb to the upper 80s and lower 90s for the week ahead, with several chances for afternoon showers and thunderstorms to start the week. We take a brief hiatus on Wednesday before precipitation chances return for the back half of the work week. For the moment, the risk for severe weather remains low.
