Scattered showers are likely Saturday

Saturday we will see scattered showers throughout the day, not everyone will see heavy precipitation. The chance for isolated showers continues for Mother’s Day on Sunday, with periods of on and off precipitation. We end the weekend with temperatures in the upper 80s. Monday will be partly cloudy with temperatures dipping into the upper 70s.

Stormcast is showing scattered thunderstorms starting in the early AM hours before drying up in the late evening hours. Southern Illinois is expected to see possible strong storms by noon, not everyone will see these showers.

Parts of southern Illinois are in a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for Severe Weather on Saturday. The biggest threats being locally heavy rainfall as well as lightning, an isolated Severe Weather system cannot be ruled out.

An hourly look at Saturday, scattered showers are expected throughout the day. Not everyone will see rain at 6:00 am or noon, but precipitation is likely for some areas.

Another day or two of warmer temperatures before we dip into the upper 70s, near our normal highs for May. Saturday we will see temperatures in the upper 80s with lighter wind speeds.

Two more days of possible storms and temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. We cool down and dry off Monday through Wednesday. Temperatures warm back into the 80s Thursday and Friday, with a chance to see more sun at the end of next week.
