Scattered thunderstorms persist through Father’s Day weekend
Saturday: Widespread rain showers are likely across the region. A few thunderstorms will be possible as well, with the best chances in Western Kentucky.
Sunday: A few scattered to isolated thunderstorms look to develop in the afternoon and evening hours. There is NO severe weather threat with these thunderstorms this weekend. Localized flooding will be a concern across the region, especially in parts of Kentucky and Tennessee.
Monday through Wednesday: Hot and humid. Afternoon rain and storm chances will persist through Wednesday evening. Next week, temperatures will warm up with moisture also increasing, to make it feel quite muggy out there.
StormCast shows some isolated showers and thunderstorms continuing through tonight. Saturday morning, isolated rain showers and thunderstorms develop in parts of Kentucky and move east. By Saturday evening, scattered showers and thunderstorms re-develop in parts of SE Missouri and die out by 10pm.
Rainfall totals through Sunday morning are ranging from 0.25″- 1.00″+. Some showers and storms could have heavy downpours, which will lead to minor flash flooding in some areas like Tennessee and Kentucky.
Saturday morning, temperatures will be quite warm once again, in the upper 60s for all of us. There will also be some areas of patchy fog in parts of the viewing area Saturday morning. Patchy fog will be due to the temperature and moisture in the air being identical or a few degrees apart.
Saturday, dew points will be in the lower 70s. This means there will be quite a bit of moisture in the atmosphere helping with the rain and storm chances throughout the afternoon.
A light west breeze will help keep us warm through your Saturday afternoon.
Saturday, high temperatures will be staying in the lower 80s under partly sunny skies. All of us a few degrees below average ( 85 degrees).
