Scorching heat coming up next week
High pressure across the Southwest has been building and will continue to impact portions of the Central Plains and Ohio Valley through this week. Temperatures will bump to the 90s just about every day.
Over the next four days, those high temperatures will hover in the lower 90s, with the humidity and more of a southern breeze returning.
Under those conditions, we’re expecting to feel like we’re in the upper 90s, if not around 100°. The next week will be another warm one as we think about the end of July.
The Skeeter Meter will remain in the “High” category because of this heat. We’ll be mainly dry through the period, keeping us from the extremes.
Through the dry period, a few isolated, pop-up showers and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out, especially Monday afternoon and Thursday. A Marginal risk includes the entire KBSI coverage area for a small chance one or two storms could produce hail and/or strong winds.
