SEVERE Storms Tuesday afternoon and evening

This afternoon, an ENHANCED risk for severe weather is in place for parts of Kentucky, SE Missouri and Tennessee. A SLIGHT risk is in place for the rest of the KBSI viewing area. Strong and severe storms look to develop out west and move east through the early afternoon. Strong winds, large hail and a few tornadoes are all concerns through this afternoon and evening.

A few EF-1+ tornadoes are possible. The highest tornado potential will be across southern portions of west Kentucky and northern Tennessee, but isolated tornadoes will be possible across the entire area.

Large hail up to tennis balls or greater will be LIKELY, especially in the red hatched marks.

Winds up to 70+ mph will be likely with these storms this afternoon and evening. The highest chances for damaging winds will be across west Kentucky, especially if the storms form a line in the late afternoon and evening. However, strong winds will be possible with any storm across the entire area.

StormCast shows some strong and severe storms forming in the early afternoon Tuesday. Timeframe for storms will be 1pm-7pm. LARGE HAIL, damaging winds and a few tornadoes will all be concerns through this afternoon and evening.

Rainfall totals through tonight range from an additional 1.00″- 2.00″+. Flooding will be prone through this evening.

Tuesday, temperatures will warm up into the lower 80s, with a gusty south wind 15-20 mph.

South winds will be gusting to about 20-25+ mph throughout your Tuesday.

This afternoon and evening, strong and severe storms will move through parts of the KBSI viewing area. Timeframe will be 1pm-7pm. Main concerns will be tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail. A few scattered to isolated severe storms in parts of SE Missouri and southern Illinois. Wednesday night, a chance for some storms in SE Missouri and northern Tennessee. Storm chances continue going into the weekend.
