SEVERE storms Tuesday afternoon and evening
A TORNADO WATCH is in effect until 8pm this evening for parts of the KBSI viewing area. A few tornadoes will be possible through this afternoon.
This afternoon, an ENHANCED risk for severe weather is in place for parts of Kentucky, SE Missouri and Tennessee. A SLIGHT risk is in place for the rest of the KBSI viewing area. Strong and severe storms look to develop out west and move east through the early afternoon. Strong winds, large hail and a few tornadoes are all concerns through this afternoon and evening.
The highest tornado potential will be across southern portions of west Kentucky, but isolated tornadoes will be possible across the entire area.
Large hail up to baseballs will be possible across the entire Quad State, mainly with individual supercells early on during the event.
Damaging winds up to 80+ mph are possible across the entire region, with the best chances in west Kentucky, extreme southern Illinois and extreme southeast Missouri.
Wednesday morning, temperatures will be quite cooler, in the low to upper 50s for all of us.
Wednesday, temperatures will warm up into the upper 70s, with west winds at 5-15 mph under sunny skies.
West winds will be gusting to about 20-25 mph throughout your Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday and Thursday look to be quite nice, with sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 70s. Storm chances return going into the weekend. Make sure to keep an eye on the forecast going into Memorial Day weekend.
