Severe Threat for Monday, May 8, 2023
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is in place through 11:00pm for much of the KBSI viewing area.
Above shows what the radar may look like as Monday night progresses. Strong to severe storms are possible as this moves through.
Our entire FOX23 viewing area is in a Level 2 “Slight Risk” for severe weather through tonight.
There is a small risk for an isolated tornado. The green shaded area is a 2% chance. It’s not very high, but it’s not zero, either.
The highest severe weather threat is going to be large hail. The areas you see the black up and down lines is the area that may see hail in excess of 2″ in diameter.
Wind gusts in excess of 50 mph will also be possible, especially in the yellow shaded 15% area.
Have a way to be alerted should severe weather move into your area!
