Severe Thunderstorm Watch through 9 p.m. Saturday
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the northern portion of our viewing area. Counties across mostly southern Illinois are of concern for a storm complex to move through, possibly bringing severe weather later this afternoon into the evening. Counties shaded in yellow are included in the watch until 9 p.m. Saturday night.
The main threat with these storms is damaging winds. The line of storms currently ongoing will arrive closer to 5 p.m. with the greatest area of concern along and just north of I-64. The line could develop further south with time.
We will continue to monitor for the latest.
