Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH for southern Missouri and portions of southwest Illinois until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Primary threats include damaging wind gusts as high as 75 mph, large hail up to 1.5″ in diameter and a tornado or two will be possible.

A fast-moving line of storms was over southwest Missouri this morning and is set to track eastward.

A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH means that conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
