Severe weather for Friday, May 16, 2025
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a TORNADO WATCH for portions of southeast Missouri and southern Illinois until 7pm Friday evening and into western Kentucky and SE Illinois until 10:00pm.

The primary hazards will be a few tornadoes likely (couple intense tornadoes possible), widespread hail up to softball size (4″ in diameter) likely, and scattered damaging wind gusts in excess of 70 mph likely.
Thunderstorm development is expected out west in the next few hours, and strong storms will be capable of very large hail and strong tornadoes.
