Severe weather will be possible across the region late Tuesday and throughout the day on Wednesday. A Slight Risk (Level 2 out of 5) of severe weather is in place for the northwest half of the viewing area. Southeast of Cape Girardeau, there is a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5).

There is a small chance of a tornado, but if we do see one, it has the potential to be EF2 strength or stronger. Quarter-size hail and 60-70 mile per hour wind gusts will also be possible.

Our StormCast model shows chances for storms developing late Tuesday evening and will continue across the viewing area until Wednesday afternoon.

The chance for severe weather continues through Wednesday morning and into the early afternoon. The southeastern portion of the viewing area will be under a Slight Risk of severe weather, with Cape Girardeau included in a Marginal Risk.

Forecast:

Df Kbsi Dma Tonight Low Manual

Outside of the storm chances, much of the region looks to stay very mild through the overnight hours.

Df Kbsi Skycast Tonight

You could sell the lower 60s as a high temperature this time of year, instead it will be our low tonight in Cape Girardeau.

Df Kbsi Dma Tomorrow High With Day Of Week Manual

Highs will reach the lower 70s across the viewing area on Wednesday ahead of an incoming cold front. Temperatures will fall as the front passes through during the afternoon.

Df Ksbi Hourly Forecast 01

We will likely see our warmest temperatures in Cape around lunch time before cold air moves through during the afternoon.

Df Kbsi 3 7 Day Forecast

Thursday looks to be near average before above-average temperatures return to close out the work week. Our next system looks to pass through on Sunday, which will bring the chance for rain and potentially a few flurries. This will also leave us much cooler heading into St. Patrick’s Day.
