Showers and storms return to the area (5/31/22)
After a stretch of mostly sunny and very warm days, a cold front arrives on Wednesday which will bring the summer-like pattern to an end. Clouds begin to increase overnight Tuesday, leaving most under cloudy skies on Wednesday morning.
While we cannot rule out a few morning showers in the western half of the FOX 23 viewing area on Wednesday morning, the better chance for storms arrives in the afternoon and evening. It will not be raining at every point in the day, but many will be dodging these storms. It would be a good idea to plan on taking the rain gear with you before heading out.
How warm we get on Wednesday depends on what time the cold front arrives. It should be coolest in the western half and warmest in the eastern half of the FOX 23 viewing area.
Showers and storms remain possible into Thursday morning, although things appear to dry out on Thursday afternoon and evening. We’ll be stuck in a cooler air mass on Thursday, with a high in the middle-70s. This cooldown will be temporary, however. Temperatures will steadily climb going into the weekend.
