Slight risk for storms Saturday
A Slight (Level 2 of 5) risk has just been posted from the Storm Prediction Center, including much of our area throughout Saturday. A complex of storms is moving through Nebraska and northwest Missouri this morning, heading our way later on. So far, it’s mainly brought very strong winds to those areas.
Some storms may be strong to severe as they reach our area, with the timing coming by the late afternoon and evening.
Again, the main concern will largely be wind in this scenario. If severe storms manage to form, damaging winds would be possible.
There is a chance some hail could accompany these storms, too, but the chance is smaller with this threat. Tornado threat is low through this period.
We will continue to monitor trends throughout the afternoon, and we will be back for updates as we get new information. Stay tuned to the FOX 23 Storm Alert Team for the latest.
